Prague 1968-1989
This tour will take you back to the communist time (although communism never engulfed the entire country) in Czechoslovakia. We will start in the Museum of Communism, where you will hear from me the story of Czechoslovakia in the 20th century and see more authentic daily life under the socialist regime. You will have a better understanding of that time thanks the exhibition. Then I will take you to the main streets and places, where our history had been written. You will look at the National Museum, which was shelled by the Soviet tanks during the occupation in 1968. We will talk about two victims of that time, which commited suicide. We will visit the Palace Lucerna related to the family of Vaclav Havel, the last Czechoslovak and the first Czech president. Further we will set off in track of November 1989 and head to the place where Czechoslovak students were brutally thrashed. Then we will go to the German Embassy that played an important role in 1989 for the GDR refugees.
