From Prague Airport to the City Centre

How to get from Prague - Ruzyne Airport / Vaclav Havel Airport to the city centre?

From some European airports you have to take a long bus ride into the city. Prague Airport is served by Prague public transport. The stops at the airport are called either Terminal 1 (non-Schengen flights) or Terminal 2 (Schengen flights). You can find out the timetable according to the stop - www.dpp.cz

From the airport you can get to the city centre by bus. The nearest metro stop is called Nádraží Veleslavín and it's metro line A/green line, bus 59 takes about 15 minutes. Bus No. 100 goes to the metro stop B Zličín/ yellow line, the journey time is about 18 minutes. There are also night buses to the centre, bus 907, which goes to Hradčanská (relatively close to Prague Castle, the journey takes about 30 minutes), Hlavní nádraží - main railway station, Karlovo náměstí, Anděl. Another night line is bus 910, which goes towards Švandovo divadlo, I.P.Pavlova, Kačerov and Modřany. There are also night trams around Prague, but there is no tram line to the airport. I think the journey to and from the airport by public transport is not bad, but I haven't had a good experience with the night services myself. Be aware of the state (usually inebriated) that night line passengers are often in. It can sometimes be an unpleasant visual and olfactory experience. Therefore, consider taking a taxi at night.

You can buy a ticket for public transport from the airport to the city centre from a ticket machine at the airport, or you can buy a ticket inside the bus using a card or download a mobile app to get a ticket. In most cases, a ticket for 40 crowns is enough to travel for 90 minutes after being marked. You can use it for bus, metro, tram. It is also valid on night connections. Beware, the metro does not run overnight.

There is a direct bus line AE between the main railway station and the airport (about 40 minutes), another bus connection - between the main railway station and the airport, which goes directly without intermediate stops. The price of this bus is about 100 crowns (about 4 euros). This line runs at intervals of 20-30 minutes, from about 5:30 to 22:00. Another option is a taxi. This can be arranged by your hotel, for example. There are various taxi apps that you can download on your mobile phone, or you can order a taxi directly at the airport. For more information visit: https://www.prg.aero/en/taxi
